Presentation on "ML-based End-of-Life Forecasting for Reuse of PV Modules in Switzerland" at Electronics Goes Green 2024+
Electronics Goes Green 2024+ is an important meeting of researchers, political decision-makers and players from the electronics and ICT industry. Its aim is to promote sustainability in these industries. As part of the Swiss PV Circle, Ässia Boukhatmi from Bern University of Applied Sciences presented the topic "ML-based End-of-Life Forecasting for Reuse of PV Modules in Switzerland" to an interested international audience.
Given the rapid pace of technological development, it is crucial to establish environmental aspects and environmentally friendly practices throughout the entire value chain of the electronics and ICT industry. Electronics Goes Green 2024+ therefore offered the Swiss PV Circle team an ideal platform to present the idea and vision behind the project to an international, relevant audience.
Important topics for Swiss PV Circle such as the Digital Product Passport, Lifecycle Assessment and Product Design for Lifetime Extensions were presented and discussed at the conference. Political movements and directives in Europe such as WEEE, REAch, RoHs and ESPR were also focussed on.
In her presentation on "ML-based End-of-Life Forecasting for Reuse of PV Modules in Switzerland", Ässia Boukhatmi from Bern University of Applied Sciences was also able to present the Swiss PV Circle project directly to the interested audience in Session 9 "Product Design - Lifetime and Robustness". This not only generated some exciting questions, but also provided important and valuable information regarding the further processing of the presented study.
Electronic Goes Green 2024+ took place from 17 to 21 June 2024 in Berlin.
